i have a stock b16a2 i wanted to know if anyone here knowes any little things or tricks to get more power out of the engine without dumping alot in a rebuild just want to knowwhat people have done and did it work?
gsr intake cam - $20
jasma b16a header - $100
itr exhaust - $100-$150
itr intake mani - $80
itr t.b chipped - $60
p28 tunned -$$$ dont slack
u should be good with out a dent in ur wallet

-a gsr intake cam will make 0 difference in a NA application
-JASMA is not a brand, it's Japan's equivlent to CARB
-by the time he pays $$ for anything with an R name, he might as well do aftermarket
OP - what is your budget and do you have any mechanical skills?

^^^ with this set up i made 12 hp difference in my b16a with the amount u see there i dont see y it wouldnt be good on another b16....
just with jasma b16a headers, short ram intake, itr exhaust, stock b16a ecu i made 161hp 115tq, the dyno i used is a dyno jet at td autowerks

Rice, I am beginning to think that people dont want to search and do work themselves...
that statement of the gsr cam, theres a guy on b20vtec that dynoed his b16 with stock cams then switched to the gsr intake and gained almost 7hp from wat i recall ill try to find it and post the dyno charts
its weird because i think i am running to rich and i know that guy got screwed 600 for only 12 whp lol i want to get it tunned and chipped but have no clue how much it will run me
get a Aem cold air intake or short ram, Velocity stack, Aem P/s Alternator pulleys. Get a 4-1 header, and pick up a cheap 2.5 exhaust and test pipe. I bet you could get all that for $1000.00
just buy a nitrous kit. you cant beat the powerr vs. money you will be getting. p find a used working zex kit and put the 75shot jets in get some colder plugs and you good to go. i have put a 75shot on so many b16's and they last forever.
that 600 you wasted for 12hp and probably 1tq coulda bought my header that gave me close to that much in one mod.
buy real parts, do research, figure out what YOU want. not what we want you to put into it. but if you want it like that i'll drive it for you too.
get an ebay 3" sri with a vstack and different filter, throw the ebay one anywhere.
you said you already have a greddy exhaust
get a different header, depending on where your located might limit options. but spend upwards of 500 for it.
i suppose s300 for the p28. personally i'd have done it in the p30 your supposed to be using.
Nitrous would be a good option, although it will put extra stress on the engine.
as for cams, any entry level cam will be good for a lil bit of extra power after a tune. bc3, or skunk2 tuner/pro seem to be the most common.

Nitrous express kits on summit are going for 400 right now, its the proton plus kit very similar to the zex setup using the box for your fuel and nitrous, only its about 150 bucks cheaper, plus it comes with a free bottle blanket (140$ free) comes with all the jets you need, but most tuners prefer a dry kit over a wet due to them having 100% control of the fuel and it being evenly distributed into the cylinders.
dry kits are cheaper, just get a dry kit, dsm450's, bottle heater, and a tune and your golden!

thanks all good ideas except for the nos i dont plan on blowing my motor for only a few seconds of power i plan on getting some nice headers chip and tune the ecu and cams sound like a good upgrade but they would have to be entry level unless i plan to build my si head which is also an idea i think i could get some real power out of bulding my head but i dont really want to take apart my head
Really the only way to get "more power" as it applies to most people you need to open your pocket book and expand your horizons in terms of what parts you will run. A built head, good header, intake, free flowing exhaust w/ testpipe and a good tune will get you what you are looking for. Low displacement of the B16A limit your power potentials without going all out and spending big buck.
Honestly if your running the P30 IM and TB switching to an ITR IM will lose usable power on the B16. The P30 is the best all around intake for a B16 as the ITR piece only make more power above 8300 rpm, typically. Save your money.

Well, I'll throw my 2 cents in since everyone else has.
I wouldn't add a damn thing to the motor. Not a header, not an IM, cams or anything. You'll squash all of those if you add a 4.9 Final Drive to your tranny. It's gonna give you more acceleration than if you were to do r cams and a header. Hands down.
Get the car running properly should be your 1st. priority, then add your FD. It will be your fav. mod.
If you insist on wanting a bigger dyno number though, r cams and the oem 4-1 r header. Those really wake B16's up. But still, the FD is a better/cheaper way to go.

says a mfactory dealer... what will his rpms be at in 5th at 65mph???
if you dont even know how to hook up a zex kit then do youself a favor and leave you engine alone
just buy a ebay turbo kit for 500 get the oil restrictor for the turbo get some injectors and a fuel pump and get that p28 tuned for turbo. 300whp all day on a decent tune and the power will be their all the time not just when you push the button.... just my opinion....
I don't give a **** if he buys from me or not, I don't do this to make a living lol! I'm just being honest. I have gearing myself, and it made a much bigger diff. then my cams and header did.
For your mph question...go to MF's website, they have a calculator.
