Icon5 EF wheel stud questions

driving down the road and get a flat go to pop the wheel off and what once was 4 lug was driving 3 lugs & now its a two lug on the front passenger side wheel.

so i want to put new studs in. but i suppose its a hub setup & when i go to do this i have to disassemble the hub and remove the bearing. I DONT WANT TO DO THIS. wont this ruin the bearing without the proper tool?

so im thinking the cars a turn i might as well just get some used hubs and see if i can pick up a bigger front disk. what would be the best setup without dumping a big wad of cash into this.

(plan on doing 4 wheel disc conversion in the next couple of months.)
& i have 15 inch gsr fat fives. im not sure how big of a brake setup i can even put under those rims but chances are the only thing ide be swapping those out for is a set of 15 inch racing wheels anyway.

any help would be... a help.

thanks

Just get your 4 wheel disc conversion from a DA and you will be good.

You can grind a small flat on the new studs and you should be able to get them in without pulling the hubs. They will hold at least untill you get your new bigger fron set-up

Screw the DA set up, get the brakes off a 90-91 civic EX sedan. They use the exact same brake pads, calipers and rotors as integers but they are used on the same knuckle as what you have now (dimension wise). If you get the integra knuckles they are taller than what you have now.

I did my EX front brakes a couple weeks ago.

if you remove the brake caliper and grind a little off the stud you can do it with little drama. or just do the integra brakes like you were talking about earlier, you can do the bearings, ball joints and replace any bad studs in the process.

this.

also, separating the hub will not damage the bearing, just make sure you repack it.

its a sealed bearing with a pressed fit.
Reusing after separating is highly not recommended

not recommended, but it will work.

The inner race will pull out with the hub, but if you don't lose any of the bearings, you could repack and call it a day. this has been proven to work. I have hundreds of track miles on bearings I've resealed.

Although, the BEST method is to just buy near bearings and hubs. they are super cheap (Bearings are $30~; Hubs are $120)... and much better to have fresh/new parts.

you're right... Hondaautomotiveparts.com doesn't show hubs or bearings listed.

But autozone does sell bearings:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par.../N-igrvaZ6o23s

Duralast for $35/each

Hubs, however... That kinda sucks that hubs are hard to find now days.

I guess you guys better be super careful with your hubs =X

this is my dilemma i might try the ole stud grind fixeroni. unless i can find some 90-91 ex front knuckles one a sweet deal.

still gotta find my RTA's and figure out what year is gonna fit inside my gsr fat fives.
i can just use an impact to set the studs in correct?

another question would be Getting them out?

if i gotta grind them to put them in how am i gonna take that out. i dont think an air chisel is a good idea.

this is HIGHLY not recommended. The stud has a knurl on it that keeps it from spinning in the hub. if you round those off without setting them, the stud will just forever spin in the hub... forcing you to either:
1. spot weld the stud in place
2. replace hub

Ask me how I know this

another question would be Getting them out?
Cut off a portion of the stud on the face of the hub... then hammer out. falls right out.

Push the stud in as far as you can then put washers over it and get it started in as far as you can with hand tools then you can use an impact gun to pull them all the way in.
As for getting them out if they have snapped then just hit them with a hammer and they will come out.

im just getting a new spindle from a junkyard. thank you for the help tho.

another question however....\\

i found a 97 or 98 integra with the bubble eyes i was wondering if i can use the rear discs from that car and if so what parts can i use for the 4 wheel disc conversion?

can i just take the discs off the 97 teggi rears and put them on my stock TA's or do i have to change or modify something else?

if someout could help me asap because my car is currently on jhackstand doing the from spindle so i might as well do it all at once.,

much thanks.

also can i take the MC BB or PV from this integra? do i need this?
