Recently when I drive my car I have been unable to reach Vtec. I am not sure if Im just not reaching Vtec or there is something wrong with the tranny or something else because once I get around the 4000 to 5000 rep range my car keeps revving but stops pulling. I get no torque after the 5000 rep range practically. The sound my car makes ( comes from under the hood ) when this happens is somewhat of a ticking sound. Me and my dad thought it was an exhaust leak because that what it sounded like so I got a whole new exhaust from the converter to the tail and it didnt seem to fix the problem. Also on another note when my car stops pulling and the ticking happens my car is quite rocky, almost like im driving on a really beat up road.

Does anyone know what may be the problem?

This sounds like an ignition issue somewhere. Check timing.

 

So it will rev passed 5k but it just doesnt seem to make any power? or what. Be more specific please. Im sure it doesnt have anything to do with your clutch/transmission
