I have a 03 Odyssey. Lately when I put it in park it the engine will rev from between 1000 and 2000 rpms. it will go up and down. Now when I pull up to stop at a light or sign it will die and then I have to put it in park and it will start back up. Its also not wanting to start. When I turn the key I will have to push the gas and it will start up. All of this comes and goes. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. When it first started acting up the engine light came on and so did the tcs light. We got it checked and the code was p0505 idle control malfunction. we want to try to fix it ourselves but have no idea what to look at. any ideas or suggestions would be great.

the idle air control valve (iac) is located on the bottom side of the throttle body. also check the p/s pressure switch connector on the high pressure hose and see if the wires are broken

 

S14civic, you mention the P/S pressure switch, I’m having the same issue. I’m not sure where this is.
