Default can i run an LS swap w/ stock exhaust system on my 98 hatchback?

hey i just dropped an LS non-vtec swap into a 98 hatchback. everything is stock on the motor and I'm going to leave it stock. My only concern is that if the the stock 1.6L exhaust system that originally came with the hatch would be sufficient for this LS motor? Or should I least upgrade the exhaust system?

The reason why I don't want to upgrade is because I don't want a loud exhaust and stock suits me best. If I do need to upgrade the exhaust how will I be able to use the following mufflers with my setup?

- GSR muffler
- 07+ Civic Si Muffler
- any other suggestions?

no. dont choke your swap. you can get a decent cat back for less than 300

thanks TwotoneC1Da9. whats better to put on? the GSR or the 07+ si Muffler?

better meaning whatever is nice and quiet and improve overall reliability/performance for motor. I'm just afraid I have back pressure because the stock hatchback exhaust system is inefficient for it.

back pressure is a lie not true and has no effect.

is this a b16 or a D?

either way the amount being "choked" is probably very little. if at all depending on the last question but im assuming a D.

in which case you will want a bigger exhaust. not for back pressure but for airflow. 2-2.5 will work great. use the 07 SI muffler.
