Default Small scratches, paint them or leave them as battle scares

I have some scratches on the front of my ITR and am wondering should I paint them or leave them as proof that I drive the car?? I got the scratches from driving HARD and fugging up once or twice. They're kinda minor but can be seen. Painting the front including the lip costs $450. This includes stripping the paint, priming, and repainting with multiple layers. I could paint, use the money on a car payment, or buy aftermarket parts. What would or have you guys done?

Quit your whining, I had five 2-3' long scratches up and down the sides of my car. Trust me, as much as a car owner looks at their car, it will get on your nerves (obviously, your posting about it). I finally got fed up. After about a year, I had a body shop paint the car almost entirely. The car is better than new, I could care less about performance parts...but that's just speaking at the moment.

Can they be polished out without having to repaint? As long as they're not to the metal you should be atleast able to make them look a lot better.

wait 2-3 years and then repaint.. thats what i plan to do, no point to repaint it early when I'm always getting new ones.

You should see my front lip, it is black underneath from scraping.

Unless it is causing your car to rust, don't fix it.

Not a big deal. Touch up paint will make it bearable.

Up to you Ed. If you made a post about them, I am sure they are bothering you. It just really depends on what you want to do FIRST, b/c from the sound of it, they catch your attention enough to talk about them.

SCREW that shitz...I hate when people ask or say something about a little scratch. i mean if you have some work done to the car I would just look at it as battle wounds but if its 100% stock (which I'm sure its not). Unless your trading it in, who cares? You have a nice car any ways.

Well what I would try, and what I'm in the process of doing, is touching them up. After putting the touch up paint on and letting it dry overnight, I'm going to polish it and see how it works out, and then add some clearcoat. Somone on the forums had mentioned 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper, but I'm a bit timid using sandpaper on my paint. Even just the touch up paint alone makes them hardly noticeable unless you're looking for them. Just do whatever makes you happy I myslef am a bit ****.

Some scratches are bad, no good for sure. Some look good, character builders or battle wounds.

leave it for when you will really need it. You never know if you may be in an accident and it would plain suck to know that you just painted them and then demolished them. Not only that, if the damage that may occur in the future is someone else's fault, then they will end up paying for it. If it is your fault, well at least you are basically paying to get rid of the scratches. The cost to repaint is basically the same to get a new bumper cover ($400).
