Default What basemap should I run? b16a Sir2, 93 hatch

Ok finished up my swap and got everything wired up and working perfectly so now its time to up the power..I was thinking ITR base map but a friend of mine is running that on his b20v and it has weak lo-cam power but the Hi-cam is crazy. stock b16a base map runs good in lo-cam but hi-cam feels super weak.. here is my mod list, LMK what you guys think.

93 cx civic Hatch
p28 ecu
b16b s4c lsd trans
Stock b16a Sir2 block
Stock b16a2 00 Si head & cams

ITR style headers 2.5" collector
2.5" full straight pipe and on track days no muffler just a buddy club spec2 style tip

Why don't you use a basemap chip that is programmed for your engine instead?

B16A basemap, all a basemap is really designed for is to let you drive to the tuner and get a real tune, it's not the finished product.

you dont have any serious mods so why not just run a p30 ecu?

because I have run the p30 basemap before and the Hi-cam feels verrrrry weak.. I want a good basemap/tune for my setup before I start upgrading the motor more cause at that point im just going to run a hondata setup and get it fully tuned.

itr base map on b16 a = FAIL 1.8 fuel maps and also timing maps just doesnt mix.. if you want a "richer" more "aggressive" map for your b16 then go ctr map or jdm b16 map they have a few options available

It sounds like you want to run your car on a basemap, the basemap is just to get you to your tuner.

im going to agree with owneyboy. run the CTR map if you want a more aggressive map for the time being since your ultimate goal is to eventually install more mods, and then run Hondata.. you can do a CTR map with a slight tune, and you will be golden

what you need is to improve the power in your b16a. theres no need for a basemap. if you really wanna be lame chip it.

i have an oldschool like 92 b16a and my hi cam works wonderfully.

or you could just deal with it and SAVE money so you can put stuff in it and hondata sooner.

Run the b16 map and tune it. End of discussion.

Try one of our maps, put it on a dyno & I would bet you it will out perform 90% of the garbage out there.

I know this is old thread, but heres your answer anyways for other ppl out there.
this loss of power is most likely due to running a mock ITR manifold on a 1.6L
ITR is a 1.8L and the IM is tuned for that size motor
I've seen dyno comparisons of the P30 (stock b16) IM vs. the ITR on a B16 and your going to lose power all the way through power band only up till 8k+ RPM's using the ITR manifold. switch back to the stock b16 IM unless you plan on putting in new cams and increasing compression ratio

i have a 93 also with a b16a. sir 1st gen block with 2nd gen head. i just got neptune from a buddy of mine. low cams pulls like a rocket, but high cam it falls on its face and the vtec got no pull. i tryed 3 computers and still no go. i just might rebuild my b16a2, i had it in the hatch last year and it pulled crazy right though the rpm range.
