Want to primer n paint my car. What do i need?
I just want to now what the best route to go, should i use a spray can when applying the primer? Or use a air compressor? Also what kind of spray gun do i need? I want a grey matallic paint im thinking anyone with advise please feel free
not to be a dick and dnt take this the wrong way...but i would take it to a pro unless you have exp. with painting a car.
Hope you were kidding about using rattle can primer for the whole car. You'll need some 2k primer and hardner, paint gun, and compressor. You don't really need to primer the whole car, just primer the areas that you've fixed. If you don't have any spots that you're fixing, then all you need to do is wet sand the car, cause you just need to scuff up the car cause the base coat will act as your primer. Personally, I would wet sand with 600-800 grit paper..
I used rattle can primer on the entire car (because the whole car had scratches thru the clear coat) and only spots that havent held up were edges where i didnt prep properly or good enough. And you should search. Google $50 paint job because it sounds like thats the route your going. After that your questipons will be minimal and be more specific.
Edit: Spray gun should be top feed type with an air psi gauge. look into a air seperator as well.

or its because the rattle can crap you used is lacquer or enamel garbage and has no adhesion
