zc trans in 91 dx with d15b7 help
im swapping a d15b7 into my 91 dx hatch. well seems the trans i bought is from a zc. i had problems fitting my axles in. searched and someone said the zc has larger axles like the b series, i tried installing a b series halfshaft i had and it clicked right in. im assuming theres no way to bolt up the zc intermediate shaft to this d15 block and make it work right? where the hell would i even get one? 89 teg or somethin work? this sucks...all just to pass emissions testing

If you are referring to a DOHC ZC transmission then look in the FAQ, there's a link in there where they tell you which axles you can use or mix/match but unfortunately you have to use the matching ZC intermediate shaft. From my experience, the A6 and Z6 blocks have the mounting area cast into the block but it's not threaded. The B8 I have does not have the mounting area and given that the block is essentially the same thing as a B2/7 I'd guess that your B7 doesn't have the mounting area either.

What you can do if time/money isn't an issue, get yourself a DX or Si transmission and just swap the gears along with the differential gear over. Then you'd have a transmission that has ZC gearing but works with regular civic axles.
*If you manage to get an Si transmission, I'd recommend using the Si final drive set with the ZC gearing...you can swap out 5th and leave that as Si/DX if you like. If you do remove the differential gear remember that those bolts are reverse threaded.

SOHC ZC trannys had intermediate shafts just like the B series and DOHC zcs. You will need the appropriate shaft to make it work. The shaft should bolt to your block but you will probably have to drill and tap the holes in the cast bosses. Its not that difficult if you really want that ZC trans. But IMO, just trade it for an SI trans and be done with it
