ZC swap, Axels? Clutch?
I want to do a ZC engine and trans swap but i read that if i use the ZC trans that i will have to switch to teg axels, is this true. I want to use the ZC tranny to counteract the tall gearing caused by my 17" wheels but i don't want to pay for teg axels. My clutch is going out on my DX trans, could i use the ZC clutch on my DX trans if i have to keep the dx trans?

to use the ZC transmission, you need to swap axles - the ZC transmission has the same final drive as the DX, but 2nd thru 5th are lower - the Si transmission, when you factor in the 4.25 final drive, is geared lower than the ZC in 1st thru 3rd - 4th is only 1 percent higher than the ZC and 5th is 4 percent - the Si transmission would allow you to use your DX axles - your DX transmission will work with the ZC clutch as long as the ZC isn't an 88.
