Default few Questions about ls/vtec

What Would the differance be between A B18c and A Ls/vtec motor? I found a few websites that sell the Whole swap for a b18c but i have not found any websites that sell ls/vtec motor, Does anyone know of a site that sells ls/vtec motors, I would like to have a warrenty on my stuff.

you are only going to find the LSV used from someone local or on a forum. the motors are not technically bought, they are built. no online supplier (hmotors for example) will sell an LSV.

your not gonna find an ls/vtec motor from an engine supplier. if you want vtec get the b18c. an ls/vtec is a motor built with parts from diff engines. non vtec block and vtec cylinder head.

essentially the LSvtec has a crank with an 89mm stroke rather than 87.2mm that the GS-R/Type R engines have. more stroke, more tq.

Okay well that works, my motor is pretty much done, So will my best bet be buying a complete swap from hmotors? Or should i just keep my b18a1 tranny
and just buy the motor from hmotors and buy a wireing harness and ecu? i wanna swap it to b18c

If you already have a B series in your car there is really no point in buying a full swap. As far as the trans is concerned, that all has to do with what you are trying to accomplish with the car.

Well for right now I want to drop a b18c to replace my b18a but I wasn't sure if my trans that I have now would work with a vtec motor. I'm trying to make decent power but still be able to daily drive, I would later like to do stuff with the motor but not for awhile cuZ I'm on probation so I don't want to be tempted with to much power. Also if I'm putting a vtrc motor in why else do I need besides the motor and ecu. Would I need a new wiring harness?
