95 civic EX/ H22 swap
Hi guys...i was looking at buying this civic coupe with h22 swap from my bro n law...he jus did the swap no more than 4 months ago, the motor came out of a 96 prelude (h22 model) with estimated about 150 k miles on it...the tranny went bad so he found a h23 tranny with 80k on it for cheap so decided to get that and just in stalled it...car ran completely fine untill he was driving the car and the oil was very low...im guessing he didnt check the oil level...well for some reason i guess it somehow affected the vtech solenoid...now the car CEL is calling for some sort of vtech solenoid code...the car now still drives, but when in gears, will not go past 4000 rpms, while in neutral, has no problems revving past that. Now my question is, since im not really a car nut, is this a common issue within the vtech solenid or could it be some other issue...like the tranny, electrical, or the swapping itself or wat?
The guy told me that all you need is a new vtech solenoid?
Please..i would like to find out if any of you guys out there has had similar issues..thanks and sorry for such along story...

oh yeah and if it was low on oil the motor could be ****ed
i would first and foremost check the oil. due an oil change and see if that helps.
after oil change unplug battery for a 10 minutes to reset the computer
if problem persists then either clean/repair/replace the VTEC solenoid.
see if that helps.
