Icon6 87 accord dropped 5th and now losing power

Hey I'm new to the forum so bear with me if I don't give enough info...
So I have and 87 accord manual 5 speed carbureted. I was on the highway going about 70 and then dropped 5th. Is this a weak spot on these tranny's?
I'm getting a refurbished transmission put in this week, but I've been driving it to work in the meantime(staying off of the highway of course), but now as soon as it warms up fully, it starts to hesitate... First it seems to only do it in second, but the warmer the motor gets, the worse it is and it starts doing it in all gears.
It's like it's not getting gas but more jerky. When it's cold it runs just fine. Could this be related to the loss of 5th gear or am I looking at a bunch of other repairs too? any help would be appreciated....
thanks

The 5th gear failure is very common on this model. The 5th gears are located in the top section under the end cap and are subject to a lack of lubrication if the oil level is low. When the gears fail the teeth often break off damaging other parts of the transmission. I doubt if this is causing the hesitation but you will certainly need to replace the transmission. I have a rebuilt transmission in stock, PM me if you are interested.
