Default Rebarreling and Widening Steel Wheels

Im trying to get a set of steelies rebarreled from a 14x5.5 to 15x7. I need some help finding a place closer to me than Cali that does this. Im in ohio and shipping wheels to Cali is too expensive. I do not want deal with Stockton Wheel either. After alot of research ive heard too many negative comments about them. So if anybody knows of a place in the mid-west i would appreciate it.

Seems like an awful lot of trouble for a set of steelies. Ever think of just buying a set of 15" wheels?

I have several sets of wheels for my EG so "no" i dont want to buy another set. I like the looks of the widened steelies, some people dont but i really dont care. I want to add a set to my collection. Plus after reseaching i found its cheaper than buying a set of new wheels and more original. Some guys are paying $50-$100 per wheel to get this done, but all the shops i saw are all in Cali which make the price practically double after shipping. Thats why im tryin to locate a place closer.

you can only have wheels widened. I you have 14" steelies and want 15", you have to buy 15". You can NOT change wheel diameter. Just sell the 14's and buy some 15's the size you want.

Why would you not just buy 15in steelies and have them widened? and is it possible to rebarrel a wheel from 14 to 15?

I know of quite a few sets of multi piece wheels that were made into larger sizes but a one piece wheel is just not possible.I would have to recommned selling the steelies and just buying a set that is already widened and you will only have to pay the shipping one way.I know someone who has them widened for really cheap and he is very well known on here and NWP.Your choice.

Sorry but your wrong. You CAN rebarrel wheels to a bigger size.

Example: Civic RT4wd stock steelies 14x5.5

Same wheels 15x7 (these actual wheels are for sale on here right now)

Again in a 15x9 i believe

I would appreciate it if someone could help me by telling me a place that does them. Thats why i started this thread. I dont really care who likes them and who dont and i really dont need any advice from someone that doesnt even know that it is possible.

It is possible and the only reason i dont go with a 15" is because the wheel i want and have is the one i just posted pics of (Civic RT4wd wheel) and they only came 14x5.5. I really love these particular wheels widened. Thanks for the help though.

talk to someone at diamond racing in wisconsin. weld craft as well which was already mentioned. only way to save on shipping costs is to attach your own fedex ground shipping labels to and from the place so they dont rape you on handling charges and dim charges.

btw, ive done several sets of steelies 14 to 15 15 to 16. steelies such as these are 2 piece welded wheels.

pretty much what you want is lip on the wheel, so thy just cut a 15 and some crap and weld it to the outside of the 14, i guess.. why dont you just buy those one rims "Diamond" something, they make steelie to your liking. and yea what that guy said r.write ^^^^^

Huh?

When companies step the barrel up on a steel wheel to an inch larger in diameter, they typically cut the face out of the wheel, and weld it into an inch larger barrel.

Diamond Racing wheels do not make very many styles of wheel faces. It's mainly just two styles (circle holes and D-shaped holes). They're designed for oval/dirt track racing, though, and have poor brake clearance for FWD vehicles.

Diamond racing actually offers "fwd" wheels that are made to help the caliper clearance issue. Also the "rebarreling" that everyone is saying that you cant do... from what ive read is taking the center out of whatever wheel you like , rt4wd, and it gets welded into a different barrel, thats how the sizes change. Diamond racing wheels are actually pretty reasonably priced and they offer different finishes and a multitude of different sizes...i dig the rt4wd wheels too im thnking im going to purchase myself some white diamond racing challengers for my wago

Weldcraft has been around for a long time and I've seen their work in person & never heard anything bad about their work

I've kinda been interestedin findin the same service in the SE, especially Florida if anyone knows of a place.

My mission is slightly different, I already have 15x6's, but I'd like to get them widened to a 7.5 or 8" and still be able to run factory wheel covers
