Default ls in a 90 crx si

i'm going to be putting a ls engine in my 90 crx pretty soon and i'm wandering what this is going to be comparable to, for example, would a stock 2000 si be able to just fly by? i really don't car about racing ... i'd just like to know what the speed is going to be. i'm not going ls/vtec because in the future i plan to boost this engine. i'm just using the crx (once the engine is in) for a daily driver for about a year or so. the crx will be fully gutted also.

an ls in a crx is pretty good i think.and you will be able to keep up or probly beat 2000 si.ls has good torque campaired to the b16 with **** torque till vtec.

well if you know how to drive you can do pretty well, when my motor was basicly stock w/ just a clutch and flywheels i beat b18c and b16 hatches, spanked si's with basic stuff.

the reason for not going vtec is not because of the money. it's because of the game plan. i'm going to go boost and i don't need the vtec in the long run. the ls will respond very well to boost because of the compression and i don't need all the high revs. the vtec would just introduce to many problems with boost. i basically just want to keep it simple. i'm not going for a 12 sec car or anything ... just a fun daily driver. thanx for all the replies.
