Car starts then dies when i move it
Well i replaced my distributor, engine harness wiring was checked out, good fuses i checked them, but will double check again. Got new/used ngk wires, bosh platnim plugs & there still good not burned black. So this morning i got up to work & it took 4x to get it on & i let it warm up a minute went to put it in gear & turned off. Went to crank it again & shut off 2 seconds after. Then i kept cranking & again turned off etc. Last nite it was running like a champ. Well i never had this problem before. I reset the ecu & nothing still. I dont get a check engine light on either so im stummped on what to do. Any1 whos had this problem or knows whats going on please help out.
It did this during the day yesterday, but @ night it was koo. Its weird, like it messes with me i dont know what the hell is wrong with it. I was told the main relay, but im still not convinced.
brand new optima, got code 3 and 5. changed my map sensor right now and went to chang my iacv and noticed the 2 hoses werent plugged. well it doesnt have the 2 hoses that go to the iacv at all. plus i heard that if my temp gauge or temp coolant sensor is not working, i can have the same prob. is that true?
btw. Wheres the main relay located? called a shop & they said the iacv shouldnt have anything to do with it. But that the map sensor would. Im confused on where to look for the problem.

Does it bog at all? Smell like fuel? Does the radio or anything else turn off? I had a problem where the contacts on the key cylinder were corroded and when the key vibrated the car would shut off.
Jesus that had to suck, ahaha. Were you lucky enough to figure that out fast? Like you accidentally jiggled the key one day and it just stalled?
It does bog out, smells like fuel big time, but nothing else like the radio etc as you mentioned. It don't vibrate tho. Well this has been happening for 4 days now, & today @ work it didn't wanna start again, so i messed with the terminal cause i seen that they weren't all the way in & so i pushed them in, damn car started. I was scared it was gonna shut off on me cause it will die after a few minutes. It didn't die the whole to go get my son. I turned the car off, went in the in laws house to get him, came back out & the ****er started with good clean low idle the whole way home. wtf?! Would battery terminals or loose battery wires do this to my ride?
Plus how many grounds does an EF hatch got under the hood? Just wanna know if theres any loose wires that my dumb *** friend didn't hook up cause he was the 1 wiring the car back together & i was just doing the mechanical work like axles etc on both cars. He is known to forget a thing or 2. So what should i look for? Like i said it wasn't doing this before the tranny swap.
Theres 3 grounds I believe: Battery, Tranny, Valve Cover. I think there's a fourth actually. Goddamnit, someone chime in and clear this up. At least check those for now.
thermostat ground, that grounds the ecu.
and yes, i figured it out eventually. i was leaving work one day and couldn't get my car running. kept started it til it worked, then drove home. i realized about a week later that it was an issue with the key popping back into the second accessory position while i was driving and the car shut off...everything shut off...jiggled the key and it turned right back on. so i started carrying wd40 with me, i would spray it in the key cylinder and it would work again. that was fine until a week later i couldnt get second accessory to work at all...i held my car in start and had a friend unplug the starter solenoid and drove home 35 miles holding my key like that lol. i took the cylinder apart and cleaned it, its been good for a year so far.

Wheres the thermostat ground located? I just seen 1 on the v/c and the 1 that goes to the negative terminal which the other end is hooked up to my bracket that holds my clutch cable. Is that 1 correct? And the starter 1 that goes to the positive terminal from what i can see.
Ok found it. Its located between and under the throttle body and fuel rail well kinda under the dizzy. Theres 2 grounds on 1 bolt. Thats what i seen right now and it goes into the engine harness correct?
