Some shots at the ring:

We tuned the car on the dyno with the following results:

211 Eng-Hp @ 8200 toeren
189 Eng-Nm @ 7600 toeren

As you can see the numbers seem to be a little low,
also the torque seems to fall off after 7500 rpm.

We allready eleminated the following things:

- Intake-pipe
(used other intake pipe with almost identical results)
- Throttle-body
(used 4 different ones of which current one performed the best but all with 4-5hp)
- Cam-timing
(cams are dialed in)
- Exhaust
(open-header run shows similar results)

Things still open to be suspected:

- Intake-manifold
(however should be one of the best out there)
- Header
- Cams

If anybody has any ideas what might be wrong or limiting flow here, please let me know!

Looking forward to read and hopefully also post some usefull information here!

With special thanks to:

- Assitch
- Bekerom Tuning

That looks about right with your cams. Torque fell about 7500 with them in my b16.

change back to the Hytech Tri-Y 4-2-2-1 Small-tube header
upgrade cams to skunk tuner2/pro2, rocket m22x, BC4
keep the px manifold or try a ported ITR

goog looking graph! a fat one like this worth more then a peaky/skinny one

I agree, it has to do with the Spec 3+ cams plus the long runners from the Performer X will limit it also. Even with bigger cams and the Performer X, from the grapsh i've seen it still peaks around there or by 8500 rpms and under.

Wow! Thanks for the quick replies!
I agree a fat graph is better then a peak-hp graph.
And the car drives and feels like a charm, so im not complaining.
Just been told that i could expect a little higher numbers.

So you don't think there is something else limiting the flow and it is probably caused by the BC3+ cams themself?

Maybe with one or two extra degrees on the intake-cam it could still gain a few hp.
Right now it is dialed-in at the Buddyclub specifications.

@koczeka;

I've been looking at the BC4's as well, but i've been told they are too big for my setup.

must be awesome running @ Nurburgring. something the majority of us will never get to do.

think those pX runners are killing your torque some, might wanna look at a ported ITR or look into modifying your pX to shorten the runners

Your graph actually looks about right for those cams. They stop making power at about 7500-8000rpm.
What valve train are you running to handle 9000rpm?
One thing to think about is with some of the other cams listed above you will lose some low end torque.
Has you head had any work done to it? Or is it still ITR stock?
Keep the Performer X.
Skunk2 Pro1 with Supertech or Skunk2 Valve train will be very nice on your set-up.

Cam has a lot to do with it but I thought the design of the intake has a big effect on the powerband?

His valves should be fine OEM is best

You have small cams.. thats about right for those sized cams for that torque dropping off.

thats actually a pretty damn nice graph, you are holding torque alot higher than most mild builds.

and since you have run your cars on the Ring you are about 100x more cool than 93% of us lol

Thanks guys!

Yes running on the Ring is an experience that nothing else can even get close to!
With the EK4, which i loved and still miss, the first Ring experience was done and soon alot more laps followed! Unfortunately because of another ones fault it got wrecked...

Now the Coupe has also allready seen plenty of laps!
First with a ~190Hp B16, and now with the B18C.
Wrt the EK4 the overal stability of the Coupe is much better, and more predictable.

It is not that i am unsatisfied with the graph, i just wish i could hold on to that torque a little longer and it would be an even better running engine!

@ OH_1fstgsr
I run OEM ITR valvetrain, OEM valves, OEM retainers, OEM springs.

Doubting if i should switch to BC4's....
Would the compression be enough for that?

Yes you have enough compression but not enough valvetrain.

Im sorry for not mentioning but offcourse i would also upgrade the valvetrain if i switch to BC4's.

@wolve;

Thanks!!
Agree it wont give extreme peak power but the gains are significant especially mid-range.
