Default Gasoline leaking from #1 Exuast port ZC DOHC

lets keep this brief ZC DOHC leaking gas from exuast port #1 between the block & header....and runs like sh*t! Pm6 Ecu...havent looked at codes yet..tomorrow plugs, wires, dizzy, cap rottor, all that sh*t 6 months old, been acting up off & on for maybe 2 months? too tired to look for answers OT at the warehouse!

Uh, just a guess, no or partial ignition in that cylinder? Leaking fuel injector? Shouldn't be too hard to figure that one out.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking, and I was going to start with the injector first

nah, you might want to start with spark. Cuz it's obviously not happenin

Are you still running the resistor box?

Check wiring and GROUNDs and if possible swap injectors with the one next to it that doesnt have the problem. If the gas overflow follows the bad injector then that is the problem. If it stays in the same cylinder, it is your res box, wiring, or ECU to that cylinder.

I meant, check spark wit that particular cylinder. Without spark gas will not burn and leak out.

Only other thing I can think of is if the injector is leaking.

[QUOTE=hybridmiklo;44389784]I meant, check spark wit that particular cylinder. If the plug and the wire are fine you probably need to do a compression check.

Cuz fuel is obviously not getting burnt in that cylinder. I think injectors would be one of that last things since they are obviously working.

No, Stuck open injector or a partially clogged injector can cause this. -Later, BR

If it was the resistor box the injectors wouldnt work.and you said your getting spark. But it sounds to me maybe clogged or faulty injector .but that's just my 2 cents

One wire from each injector goes to the resistor box it could be a bad wire to the problem injector but I think it is more likely that the injector is stuck open.

get a cheap mechanics stethoscope and put it on the injector and see if you can hear it clicking if not then the injector is most likely fubar or do what another poster said and move that injector to another position if the problem moves it is the injector, replace it and your problem should be solved.

well the injector is REPLACED and it is still leakikng, spark is there

only thing I can think of is there might be a signial going to the injector telling it to stay open
either that or I have a leak in the exuast gasket...creating nonexisting back-pressure (which is needed in Honda engines!) there fore causing the fuel to spill into the exuast chamber and out the gasket!!
P.s. my car is a 1988 Civic DX 1.5 orgionaly now 1.6 DOHC ZC

overall my guess is BACK-PRESSURE!!?? which would in theory keep that mixture in the combustion chamber & fire, but without it no bang bang!!

Im still using the resistor box (is there a part # on that?)
If the exhaust gasket doesn't work then IM gonna chase down the wiring

I had 2 Red & 2 Yellow of which were desiginated to go to the #1&4 fuel injectors?? 6months ago while trying to get my beast running these two extra wires were fouling me up, switched orders many of times and same result and all times the car ran

Does the injector click when the car is running?

Hey genius, Code16 is an injector problem. Why are you chasing EXHAUST f*king BACKPRESSURE!!!! Maybe pay somebody to work on your car before you screw something up. Or don't bother posting if you are going to ignore good advice already given by other members already - sheeesh!

Like I said, it could be your resisitor box, and now that you mentioned you had trouble with the wiring initially points to that likelyhood. Another possibility is a sticking injector. If you had done like I said and switched the #1 injector to another cylinder and the gas leaked followed, you would have determined it was the injector. If it was the resistor box or wiring problem, it will stay on that #1 cylinder.

You can also measure th resistance of the coil in that injector.

Or the best method is to use a match to find gas leaks. 100% guranteed to detect gas leaks yo!

yeah yeah I got ya Laserjock...Im just ****in slow. I'll switch around the injector as you say to a different cylinder. However I feel that simular results were achieved with a new injector...and the same problem exist, 50$ later
I will also disconnect the plug on the injector to see if its still leaking gas, so like you said it could be the wiring/ECU or even the Fuel Pressure Regulator getting a bad signal to that cylinder. Just to let you know the exhaust gasket wasnt my idea & took me 3hrs of someone convincing me!! Yeah Im ****in dumb!! THANKS FOR ALL UR HELP GUYS!!

Find some one with a set of noid lights to test the signal to the injector.

noid lights?? never heard of that one...writing it down tho!
I did disconnect the injector wires and gasoline did stop leaking from the exhaust gasket, residue did seeped from the O2 sensor. Thenn I hooked the injector back up and same O'l problem. Bad wireing? Bad Fuel Presure Regulator? Bad compreshion?
Whatever Im taking it down to my mechanic tomorrow, give him the headaches instead!

You are 80-90% to the solution . It's probably your wiring or injector. You can do this yourself and keep the money in your pocket for future mods or go to a shop.

Try another injector or trace your wiring back to the grounds for the inj or to the res box.

keep at it man
