Default Rod Help?

hi guys. I finished stripping the bottom end today. not good.

number 3 big end has picked up on crank, so crank is shot, the rod (eagle) has obviosly got hot aswell as its blued a bit compared to others and the shell had spun a bit,

my main concern is the rod, it has some marking on it, no obvious scores or anything just not the nice shiney cross hatch effect like the others,

can this just be cleaned up with some fine sand paper to get the effect back or is it f@?*$d??

many thanks adam

Having it be a different color and not "crosshatched/shiny" is no big deal. The biggest worry you should have is whether it is round or not. Take it to a machine shop and have them check it for roundness. If it is in fact out of round or "egg shaped" ask the machine shop how much material needs to be removed to fix it, then check to be sure it is still in spec.
