Hi, everyone here. Is been quite sometimes I heard the gear sound when I shift gear . Especially Gear 3 and 5. When shift at Low RPM below 3k rpm there is no sound and is fine. If shift when higher rpm> 3k RPM I heard a sound like (shift a gear without pressing clutch) Most is Gear 3 and 5. Is that mean that the gear is worn. I change the whole linkage and lever today, I tot after they replace my linkage and lever there will no more sound when shift. But After I drive home, I heard the same old problem. The only improve after replace it is my shifter is more firm not loose like previous worn shift lever. Now I guess Is the gearbox. Sometime the weird sound is loud even people outside the car can be hear. So is there anyone experience this kind of symptom before I replace a thing which is not the main problem. Thank you ( oh yeah my linkage is shortshift type r)

 

your 3rd and 5th gear syncros need replacing.
