Default fuel to air ratio?

ok, so you know the tube going from your intake to your head? well, I took off that tube and added mini filters to each end ( one from the cold air intake, one to the head ) and I drove home, and realized my car was smoking ( around the dpfi ). the next day I take it for a drive and it starts to rev like 500 rpm, drop, rev 500 rpm and repeat, even when I drove it for like 10 minutes, ( originally it only did that when I started the car )
Anyways... I was wondering if it could just be a fuel to air ratio problem, because I have cold air intake and 4-2-1 headers, and my fuel injectors are a lil clogged. so any help would be appreciated, sorry im really bad at telling things. pic's later I guess

First things first, reinstall the crankcase breather hose that connects your Intake piping to your valve cover along with its affiliated coolant line. Alot of people make the mistake of removing this thinking its beneficial for the motor. Air is not coming out of the crankcase via the breather line and venting into your motor. Its actually the exact opposite and air is actually being sucked into the crankcase via the breather line attached to your intake. Honda put that line there to prevent condensation buildup inside the valve cover. The coolant line that is attached to the breather line heats the incoming air so that there is no water coming into the valve cover and condensing on the walls inside the engine's crankcase and valve cover. By removing this line and attaching "Breathers" you are actually hurting your motor by possibly allowing moisture inside the engine when you park it and go inside for the night. Also these breathers can jeopardize the actual life of your engine because particles can now enter the crankcase making your oil contaminate faster which could possibly lead to sludge build up and quicker deterioration of the engine.

Secondly about your smoking and idle. How many miles are on your engine? Is the smoke coming from you valve cover? A tiny bit of smoke is normal from an engine, like when you unscrew your oil cap and see a bit of smoke come out. Its because of the "oil cloud" that is generated by the crankshaft hitting the oil inside of the oil pan. But if its smoking severly it could be a number of other things such as Blow by. Concerning your idle, it may be your IACV or MAP sensor. It may be time to clean your IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) located on your intake manifold. On a d15B2 its located directly to the right of the large intake "swirl" chamber and bolted right on top of the intake manifold. While your at it u can do other other maintenance procedures as well. The absolute best thing someone can do to keep there motor happy and there vehicle on the road is to keep up maintenance. You can send the fuel injectors out to be cleaned or you can replace them. Check to see that you didn't mess with the throttle cable adjustment when you were messing around with the valve cover breather line. Mine had become incorrectly adjusted too tight and it caused my idle to fluctuate as you described. Readjusting it to its proper setting with the recommended amount of slack corrected my idle issue. Also since you mentioned DPFI, and you think you may have one or more faulty fuel injectors, now may be a good time to convert to MPFI.
