Help with manual Rack for ef sedan
I'm switching over from a power steering rack to manual rack. First timer. I don't know which manual rack will work for me as far as better ratio. Any suggestion or comments will be greatly appreciated. thanks
The one from an 88-91 CRX Si would be the best choice, it has the lowest number of turns lock to lock (more sporty feel). But really it's hard for me to tell a difference unless I drive both of them back to back. It's a direct bolt in affair, getting all the old ps stuff out of there to make room is the chore... You will be drenched in ps fluid when you're done.
That's actually incorrect information.
The ratio for the PS rack is the fastest with the lowest LTL. I took great effort to verify this info from the civic shop manual.

^^this is true. i remember converting my crx to power steering, and the sedan rack had a tighter ratio. the hardest part is probably getting the rack and sub frame in there. easy if you have a tranny jack. i didn't though

He wasn't asking about the best power rack to use now was he? If he wants a manual rack, I told him the best option.
