how much would this repair cost?
I normally do all of my own paint and body work, but have never worked for a shop and would have no idea how much something like this would cost to get fixed. I know how much in materials etc.
Can someone please give me a estimate for what I looking to get done? Just so I know if Im going to get ripped off.
details are as follows:
I am providing the paint. They can use their own primer and clear. I just need the roof fixed, I will get the windshield done at a separate time.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks! (I hope not to have to take it to a shop but just in case)

Looks like a hellacious amount of stud-weld and slide hammer work, and maybe a hammer and dolly if there isn't a ton of bracing around there.
I helped a friend reweld a roof cap once, and it wasn't awful, just a lot of work.

you cant throw that thing on a tow bed so u can take it to a body shop? they usually give free estimates. no one on honda tech can give you an accurate estimate unless they're using an estimating guide. its like numbers people are pulling out their a$$ on what they think its worth. i would RR the roof skin and charge around 400 bucks. (then include the price of the roof skin and materials etc). front window is already out. u just have to R&I the rear window.
^i know what you mean. Yeah I can drive it down the street to the body shop I just wanted to try and get an idea before I get the estimates. I think what im trying to figure out is if it would be cheaper to buy a stud gun welder and supplies or let someone else do it. Every once in a while someone will post that works at a shop and say how much they've seen repairs like this cost.
Thanks for the info!

i know how to estimate. i just dont have an estimating guide.
but consider this to give u a rough idea
-body labor ($ varies from shop to shop) x hours it will take to fix (i would say 5-6hours)
-paint labor ($ varies from shop to shop) x hours it will take to paint (probably 1.5-2.0)
bottom line is. it varies greatly from any shop you go to. some rates are ridiculously low, and some rates are ridiculously high.

depends on prices and labor like said above.
may be easier to take headliner out and beat from the inside. maybe heat shrinking a little bit.
had to do that on my EF roof.

im actually being taught how to estimate, and all that good stuff.
so yeah from what i was told, its that much.
cause were only charging for only one panel.
thats with all the sliding hammer work, bondo, primer and paint.
if you think about it.
its really easy.
just takes alot of time and patience to get back to the right dimensions.
