88/89 doors on a 90/91 crx
anyone ever come across a write-up or have any info on this? I want to put the jdm doors on my 91 but im pretty sure they are just like the 88/89 doors.
It'll fit, just remove the top strikers from the 90 door jam.
You can retro fit 88 seatbelts to the 90 chassis but it takes a bit of welding a missing nut.
But 90 doors will NOT fit a 88 chassis because the door jams are not compatible to fit the girth of a 90 door, even without the seatbelt mechanism.

i swapped doors before, but the latch strikers wouldn't work. couldn't get them in far enough. door would close with about a half inch gap. ended up using nissan pulsar strikers, IIRC. they were smaller, bolted up, and let the door close just right
I want to open my door and have it look exactly the way the factory intended for a JDM door jam to look...I know to almost all of you this seems pointless, but thats my goal...Yes i could have gotten an 88 but its too late for that haha...Is anybody able to take a picture of an 88 or JDM door jam, and a 90/91 door jam just so I can see exactly what the differences are?
i just took those pegs at the top of the jamb out and bondo'd/painted. not sure what any other difference is, but i can't see honda japan revising the entire thing just for us spec doors

and really, dont argue with me in the future. the door thickness is very different and the door jam is certainly made differently to compensate.

^^i'm just gonna take your word for it. i was going on memory, and it's been quite a few years. don't even really know how i drifted back over to the crx forum lol
you can get off your high horse though. it's ok for your answers to be questioned once in awhile
