need help:turbo h22
So I have been researching putting a turbo on my STOCK h22a. I DON'T want anything crazy 300whp is what I want, really don't want anymore. So from everything I have seen this would be achieved somewhere between 7-10psi depending on what turbo. I know CFM is different from turbo to turbo thats why I need help. This will be in my daily with about a once every other month trip to the drag strip. I really want to be in the low 12's to high 11's with all I have seen my 2400lb car with 300 hp should get me there.
I NEED TO KNOW:
What turbo to go with?
Mini ram manifold or Top-mount?
What size wastegate?
will DSM 450cc injectors be ok (believe they are good to 300hp)?
Please dont talk about this stuff:
I know the ringlands on the h22s are weak, i know sleeving is better, i know that mahle golds exist, and i know that h22a can handle low boost for a long period of time with a GOOD TUNE.
Thanks in advance

450cc injectors will be fine for 300 whp. Make sure you are running a resistor box with low impedance injectors.
The most important thing in this case is ENGINE MANAGEMENT & TUNING!
Don't skimp on this or you will end up with cracked piston ringlands.
Concerning what turbo & manifold to go with, a mini ram or top mount will both make the power you are looking to make. Choose which ever one suites your future goals (more power) and fits better (if you are trying to keep a/c etc).
Concerning turbo sizing, don't buy a turbo that can only handle 300 whp.
Buy a turbo that has a good spool time for 300-400 whp on a 2.2L but also has the capability of making more power down the road when you get tired of 300 whp.
Concerning a wastegate, this depends on how crazy you go with your turbo/manifold setup. If you use a simple 57 trim turbo with a mini ram you can use a 38mm wg.
If you use a top mount with crappy wastegate placement & a larger turbo such as a pt67 you will likely need a 44mm or two mvs 38mm wastegates etc.
You say you want 300 whp now, but later you will want more.
I can't even tell you how many times I have seen people build turbo setups for 300 whp and end up selling their setup to build a better setup b/c 300 just wasn't enough etc.

For your powergoal I don't think a topmount is needed. The miniram or a ramhorn would do great for cheaper and both can handle more then 300. Also with your power goal in mind a 57 trim would do great as far as spool time and you can get a lil more out of it if you wanted. If you do decide to go with dsm injectors I got a set you can get for cheap pm me if you're interested.
how about a:
GARRETT T3 / T04B "S" trim
compressor wheel: 48.4 / 69.9 mm 48 "S" Trim
compressor housing: 0.60 a/r T04B
center section: oil cooled journal bearings
Turbine wheel: 68 trim (stage1)
Turbine housing .48 a/r
OR
Borgwarner/ISHI RHC6
Compressor wheel: 50.3 / 70 mm 52 trim
compressor housing: 0.7 a/r
center section: oil cooled journal bearings
Turbine wheel: 64.6 /62.1 mm 77 trim
Turbine housing: 0.7 a/r
OR
Garrett T3 / T4E 57 trim
compressor wheel: 56.6 / 74.9 mm 57 trim
compressor housing: T04E 0.70 a/r, 4" / 2½"

I wouldnt personally go with that garrett **** if you buy it new. Garrett was bought out in 2010 i believe by a company called Honeychest (or some **** like that). Pretty much every garrett turbo that is brand new after the buyout is all china knockoff **** with a fat garrett logo on it and an inflated price tag. Plus 57 trims, 54 trims, 60 trims are all old new. Spend a hundred more dollars and get a turbo that is gonna do work. Even if u only want 300whp. Get a good quality turbo. I personally would get a 5857 PTE billet wheel. You could get a 5557 but IMO its way to small for an H motor. I run a billet 62mm and mine is almost instant, i wish i would of gone bigger then the 62mm on my setup.
DSM injectors will be fine. If u want a little more room to go fuel wise, Evo injectors are larger and are basically the same thing. I believe they are 560cc. But 450cc DSM injectors will work fine.
A mini ram will work fine. A buddy of mine has a fairly simply setup, just mahle drop ins and some eagles and just made 480whp on 20psi and 93 octane on a 5862. And obviously has alot more room to go. All this was done on a POS treadstone log manifold. But i personally wouldnt run a log because H's need to breath.
Most of your high end manifolds are gonna use a larger 44/46mm wastegate. I would just go ahead and run a 44mm.
