Oh God Help Me... Engine Prob...Plz Read
okay so the other day my brother blasted my car off a pothole at a ski mountain and didnt inspect for damage. he put a nice hole in the oil pan. but more importantly, he drove it with it leaking, the light came on, he pulled over and put 3 quarts in, bringing it back to normal level and brought it home. i looked at it at night and it was fine. didnt see the hole till today. i went to drive the car, got halfway down the driveway and this high pitched noise started, after cleaning and repairing the break in the pan i was able to replenish all the oil in the car. unfortunately that noise did not go away as i had hoped. i let the car run for about 5 mins at idle to see if it would go away. it gets more faint as time went on but it is still there. the check engine light is not on for this, i have a code for a cat but i pulled codes again and it is not coding anything for the motor. the noise sounds like its in the top end but im not sure. its not a horrible noise, more of a metal on metal whining noise like a belt noise except i know for sure its coming from the motor. also, the sounds responds with the throttle, more gas it whines more, less gas and its quieter. no loss of power and the engine doesnt seem to be misfiring or anything like that. any idea what it could be anyone?
I would highly recommend no further starting or running of the engine
until you start pulling it down to inspect for damage. When the oil
pan was damaged it may have affected the oil pickup, especially if
the pan is dented.

bearings, cams, rockers, or anything that has to do with any metal surfaces that come in contact with other metal surfaces. Time to see what's in the oil pan
. Get ready for a huge pain in the ***. Oil light came on in my current car and I **** myself in 5 seconds at idle, thankfully for being around idle the entire time.

All of your insight seems to be related to either "Go JDM y0!" or "Go TurB0z y0!". Why don't you go outside and do some real work on a real car before posting on any automobile related forums. It might also help if you stop reading Import Tuner.
Thank you.

i had a similar problem when i had an eclipse
an annoying sound like metal with metal (theres no way to know if its the same noise)
turns out i had a bad leak where the oil pressure gauge was conected anyways we couldnt figure out the noise so we took out the valve cover and started the car and noticed that there was no oil reaching the head even though we did fill it up with oil. ended up being a bad hg i dont know if thats the case but it would be a place to start
