92 accord water leak. Not evap drain.
I have been having an issue where water is leaking inside the car and when I backed into my parking spot at work the water rushed to the front and fried the ECU and TCU. I replaced both from a parts car and have kept them off the floor in bags and towels to keep them dry.
Problem is I cannot find the leak. I hooked my shop vac up to the evap drain hose and couldn't get anything.
I also sealed around the top of the cowl to try and prevent water from coming in from there.
I took it to my mechanic and he did a smoke test and used water and said something about the "heater box seal". and that the labor would be like 8 hours.
Any help would be nice as we have finally had some decent weather the last few days up here in ny and I don't want to put it off any longer.

You just gave yourself the answer, if the heater box seal is ****, water will get in, the whole dash has to be removed to remove the heater box so it can be replaced/resealed
lol yeah I was driving around and realized that and feel like an idiot.
So there is no temp fix or easy fix to this? It is my winter beater and just has to get me through until spring.

well take out the glovebox and try your best to see if you can see where the water is coming in, its a longshot but its worth a try, theres no temp fix for patching that box unless you can get to the leak, if not you have to take the dash apart which can be very annoying if you have never done it before, get a haynes manual and follow that so you dont break anything, if you try to just do it without knowing where every screw and bolt is you will break something
Lol yea I know how that goes and I have the Haynes manual. I just went and bought the seals from a local dealer and they should be here tomorrow. Thank you.
