Mini me swap wiring
So, I'm working on doing the mini me swap from a D16Y7 to a D16Y8 in a 1996 Honda civic ex sedan, with the 5 speed manual (Canadian model, so no vtec). Anyways, I'm confident in my abilities to pull off the mechanical aspects of the swap, but not so much the electronic sort of aspects.
I know that there are three wires that have to be run, and I want to know what might be the easiest and best way to do this, I know one way is to swap out the stock ecu for the P2P one, but I have no idea how to do that, or what it would involve. Another thing I've heard about is running an rpm switch, but again I have no idea how to do that or what it would involve.
Anyways, I hope someone will shed there holy knowledge upon my predicament, both what to do for the best, and most especially, how to do it.
Thanks,
Kyle

You'll need a 96-98 P2P for it to run properly and activate VTEC, don't do an RPM switch, it won't give you the extra fuel and timing. The ECU swap is basic. On your passenger front kick panel the ECU bolted in. Simply remove the kick panel, unbolt the ECU, unplug it plug the new one in. You'll need to run the wiring for VTEC solenoid (1 wire), VTEC pressure switch (2 wires), knock sensor (1 wire), and convert the 3 wire IACV to 2 wire. Check my signature below for any help or Pm me. Here's some diagrams to help:
