im sanding down the plastic trim pieces from a del sol that has been raped by spraycans for years.
i tried spraying itwith the paint that has been on it i sanded it down pretty good but it bubbled.
so i sanded it down to the original factory coat adn bare plastic
the plastic is beige color very soft kinda like grocery bags.
so i try to use high build primer to make the surface nice and smooth but it keeps bubbling up at the edge where patches of plastic show, the factory paint.
i dont know what kind of paint i can use that will cover it up? is there some kind of sealant i can put on it?
these are the pieces(side trim)

The thinner in the new paint is too aggressive, you have to apply many very light and dry layers before you can actually lay a good layer of paint.

its the original factory coat that is separating at the edge not the primer or paint.
so im thinking that the plastic is very very soft and melts every chance it gets underneath the original paint.
i used the paint remover(the brush on)
usually it kinda melts the surface but if you leave it alone for a day it dries up and easily sanded down, this one melted off the whole corner like it was playdough.
its not abs plastic or urethane.

Bubbles can also be from air in you line. More than likely its from a dirty surface. Right before spraying go over with some thinner with a tack cloth. And make sure ur paint isnt too thin ( too much thinner, acetone whatever...).

The problem isnt bubbles.. Your mixing alot of stuff on one panel ie..spray paint, factory paint, factory primer and some sort of after market primer.. They are not agreeing with each other.. You shouldnt use normal paint stripper on plastic parts anyway. You sand everything back down(use 400 wet paper and water sand all the junk off)then get you a good 2k primer and prime it.If you have a bunch of it that goes to the factory non sealed plastic you will need a primer that works on bare plastic or a adhesion promoter
