Default 92 CB9 + 97 Lude SH..... can it be done.

Hey I am the proud owner of a 92 Wagon EX 5sp. I love this car and have taken good care of it. I've owned alot of newer lux cars and still find myself going back to drive it, its so fun. I'm at a crossroads however. @ 228,000 miles its started to develop a rod knock and rattles a couple times at startup. So I've been searching for a used motor and ran across a 97 Prelude SH that has been wrecked.

I'm buying this car and would like to use the motor obviously but would also like to use the atts system. Has anyone done this? I could use the whole harness and ecu for both the atts unit and the engine.

I don't have a ton of experience with the atts system but to my understanding its a small a/t unit basically. I would rather this car be a non-sh car but its such a good deal I'm pulling the trigger regardless in hopes I can make some of my money back selling off whats left that I don't end up using.

Has anyone converted a CBx to OBD-2? I'm kinda thinking I might. I would also retain a/c and p/s.

I'm telling you, you don't want to do this.

ATTS block is only able to mate to ATTS tranny, and the only car they go right in to are Prelude SH. So, even if you try to flip this motor, the chances of selling it are pretty low.

Also, ATTS is such a PITA that Prelude SH owners have converted to non-SH (which requires ALOT of work). And no non-SH has ever been converted.

If dealing with the same year Preludes SH vs non-SH is that much of a hassle, you can only imagine.

But you should talk Kronn98SH, he seems to know all things ATTS. Or go (ugh) prelude power.com, obviously Accord forums would know nothing about ATTS.

Ok... thanks for the feedback Rude, I'll pm that person

. From what I've read it is possible to bolt a non SH trans to the block and run a regular intermediate shaft with an adapter plate. Sounds like the worst case scenario.

I think I'm still going to attempt this thing. The only part I'm worried about is the atts unit fitting in front of the rear subframe.

I do remember a friend of mine who had a SH that wanted to run a quaife diff, so he bought the base trans and a int shaft adapter plate and had zero problems bolting it up. So it cant be that hard. But thats worse case scenario.

Ballr.... why do you say this? Any reason?
