ok so i have a eg hatch 92' and i had a 95 civic ex coupe as a donor car wrecked . so i stripped dows he coupe and swapped everything over to my hatch power windows etc... i used all EX coupe harness for the hatch it was all plug and play but now my problem is the second part of the harness in the car that splits by the rear drivers side quarter panel (main plug) for the taillight harness is completely different than the hatch original one. so ive tried to just plug in the stock hatch tailight harness to the ex front harness in the hatch and i blow fuses i looked up wiring diagram its ways different, so then i tried using the eg coupe harness for tailights and all the plugs are diff. so all in all i need wiring diagrams for the tailight seperate harness for both EG coupe ex and eg hatch vx.


has anyone done this before? if so what did you do for the tailights/harness to amke it work? sorry if all this sounds confusing..

 

If i'm reading this right the hatch rear section plugs in but blows fuses? Repin it so it doesn't Either check the wiring diagrams or compare what each pin does to the EX rear harness, repin accordingly.

 

is there a reason why you wanted to do this swap?

 

yeah thats what im thinking but i need to find a wiring diagram for the rear section plugs of the harnesses. anyone have the wiring diagrams?

 

something to do lol minus well do it since i scrapped the coupe.

 

i have this same setup in may car no fuse's are blown , i had to run one new wire for the brake lights thats it

 

it's just to say that if you did it so that you would have the vtec wiring harness, you didn't have to do the swap. 92 civics had the harness from factory to run vtec.

if it was so you would have power window and locks, okay.

 

i know about pre wired for vtec on 92, i did it for the power windows etc..

 

can you give me more info? the hatch harness literally has like 3-4 plugs for taillghts etc and the coupe has a **** load and plugs are diifferent which haness did u use? etc..

i used a civic ex front floor harness and the original rear civic hatch wiring

 

yeah thats what im using, literally every harness/wire in the car is from a civic ex, and i plug in the hatch rear part harness for taillights etc and it blows my taillight fuse

check for the ground on the rear harness its on the car in the rear under the tailgate

there is a ground wire for the rear section of the harness it gets bolted to the car with 10mm bolt were the spare tire goes

Just gone done looking through the ETM (I only have a hardcopy so no PDF hookup) its connector C590, but there's no pinout. Take a look at both plugs, check it pin by pin against each other, see what's different, repin.

 

^ Yes, do what 94EG8 says. Match up the wire colours - they will all be the same ... oh, except GRN - there's a GRN for the trunk-open indicator and one for ummmm... something else - might be rear wiper. Not a problem though if you don't have a rear wiper.
