Have a friend with a Set of DOHC Vtec Blox cams with a "B" at 1 end of the cam. He doesnt know what the specs are. He ONLY bought the cams and installed them. NEVER ran the car because he never finished the project. Now He DOES NOT KNOW if they are all motor or turbo spec A or B. How do I find out what they are before I buy them.

 

Does Blox even make/copy turbo spec cams?? If it says B on the end, I think it's a pretty safe bet that they are the skunk 2 tuner stage 2 copies.

 

From the Blox site its states A's are safe on stock valves and B's need springs and retainers.

I just want to know what they are. Im building a B20vtec and will be boosting later down the road.

 

A's = S2S1's so stock valvetrain is acceptable but a mild upgrade is recomended.

B's = Skunk2 stage 2 tuner series, so upgraded valvesprings and retainers will be required.

If you're going to boost, you'd want the blox A's or S2 S1's instead of those cams.
