Default tuning options for obd2 97 honda civic?

I have been searching and most people don't really understand what I am asking but, I am looking to tune my 97 civic hx, but I want to still be able to use my can bus port to use my Scangauge II to read engine info.

If there was a way for an ecu to display instaneous mpg, avg mpg and load on the engine while being obd1 would be fine but i am doing the tuning to save more gas to save more money, also it is a complete street car and it needs to pass inspection, and keep ALL emissions equipment

I use the scangauge to help with my high mpg achievements and would like to continue to do so but was not sure if i switch to obd1 i will be able to use the scangauge II?

Would the AEM FIC be an option or the only option?

Thanks for the help and hopefully this makes sense

I had thought of that and had noticed a few of the jet units might work?

For this particular setup, I'd say the AEM FIC is probably your best bet. Typically, I don't ever recommend a piggy-back setup, but if you MUST keep obd2, that will do the trick..

i really don't want to use a piggy back system but i can't afford performance so i am going to stay with the obd2 system
