Default dpfi to mpfi HELP!!!

Sorry if this has already been discussed somewhere else here on ht. I just have a quick question! I have a 89 civic dx with dpfi, I wanted to know if I swap another non-vtec motor into my civic thats mpfi with the wiring harness thats for that motor that im swaping is there anything else that i would need to do for that conversion?

Thanks in advance!!!

Yeah you'd still need to modify your body harness to be MPFI.

Yeah you gotta Do some wiring. You gotta add 6 more Wires. well that's how I do it 4 for the injectors from the ecu to the injectors and 2 for the cylinder position sensor.. if your not good with wiring pay some one to do it... or if you fell like you can do it. Hear you go this is the right up I used to learn I have it down pat now I don't even gotta look at it any more lol

You don't need to add 4 wires for the injectors, only 2.

From the OP s question it looks like he'll be using the engine harness that came witht the motor. Is that ok? Someone chime in. I thought ur supposed to use the same harness from the cars original motor.

You need to use a combination of your original harness with some parts of the swap's harness. If you are unable to do it, give me a holler via pm, I can make the harness for you.

Yes clipsed your right you can run just 2 new wires for the injectors. And splice the other 2 injector clips on to the excisting 2 Fuel injectors from the dpfi harness. But like I said I run 4 for the injectors and make my own subharness with. A 6 pin plug I get from junk yards. So if the motor has to come out I can unplug it from the car. Eaither way works. I just find it easeyer to do it the way I said I guess its up to the person. Doing the wiring

No one has pics...just self drawn pictures or things similar. I would love a pic. Im trying to get everything together or at least what im gonna need for the swap. SO from everyones comment am i correct that if I use the dx original harness I just need to add some connectors and wires where-as the d16z6 im installings' harness would only need additional wires...? Right or wrong. And the main thing is that i could use both?
