Default Short Ram Intake

Hey I own a 1993 civic si with a D16Z. I just bought a short ram intake to replace the stock rubber one. I have came across a problem while putting it on. The intake fits properly, but the connecting hose that connects to the intake is to big, and will not fit into the intake. I was wondering am I able to cut the stock metal connector and replace it with a rubber tube and put the other tube end over the intake to make a seal.

What do you mean by "stock metal connector"?
Usually, the cold air intake tube is bigger and comes with a step down adapter to fit your intake manifold.

The intake fits my manifold i'm talking about the connector that goes into the engines head not sure what to really call it. I can get a picture up asap.

If the hose too big, can't you just put a clamp over it and squeeze it to fit?

Yeah, get a pic up. Sounds like you might be refering to the breather tube...

Get a picture of both pieces that you are trying to connect

i just put the original tubing to one side and replace it with a silicon hose to go from valve cover to intake arm. And no you cannot cut it entirely off otherwise you will get collant pissing out eveywhere

Why don't you just vacuum cap the extension coming off the intake pipe, then slap a breather filter on the head?

If I remember right, I ended up getting rid of the metal connector altogether and just replaced the coolant hose with a longer one... then I ran a silicone hose from the breather tube to the intake.
