91 hatch running problem
My 91 civic si keeps dying while driving. It will sometimes miss once, keep driving then die shortly after. And other times it will just out of no where die. It usually dies while at a steady speed though. Once it dies its "fun" to get it to start again. Have to crank it again and again then it will fire and run.
I've replaced, new distributor, new wires, new plugs, new fuel filter, new pcv, new battery, new ground from block to chassis, new ground from battery to chassis, new positive terminal. After doing all this it was still doing the same, so I took it to the shop. Timing was adjusted, throttle body cleaned out, injection system cleaned. Got it back and sure enough died. Took it back up there and they checked everything again, replaced a positive wire, but couldn't find anything else a miss. Said it was done....dies again

after doing alot of reading, I keep reading about the ignitor. It fits the syptom but I have a new distributor on it, and by new I mean not even 3 days old. A few "diagnostic sites" say perhpas fuel pressure regulator could be bad. A bad fuel pressure regulator may be helping cause some of the missing that does occur at times, but I don't know about it causing the car to totally die while driving?
getting spark and fuel?

I looked up prices and its relatively cheap. I've replaced everything else and the shop guys don't know what else it could be...not throwing any check engine lights so thats no help. If anything least it will have a new one and I know it will be good for a while to come.

well, its back to its old ways...don't know what else there is to be done. I'm going to put some injector and fuel system cleaner in there and see what happens. Otherwise, I have no ideas
not bad...when I'm in 2nd and just normally accelerating it will bog come back and start missing, do that for a couple times, rpm shoots to zero....comes back. To start it I only have to crank if twice now...which IS and improvement but still same old crap.
Can anyone else think of anything that might be wrong? I'm going to check the plugs again tomorrow and see if I can find any fouling at all....but I've replaced everything I can think of. Theres nothing left....?
i think it might be a wireing problem with ignision.... i have an 91 dx that i made mpi and swaped in an ls... and im driveing and the same things r happenin to me rightnow im in the prosses of soldering all and every wire i have that has bin wire crimped... i know it might be a stupit qwestion but have you checked all of your grounding wires and battery connectors?... it also i would replace all of fueses with new even if they arnt blown and i would tighten every thing
Kindof an odd question, but where are you buying your gas?
I had a mazda pickup that ran like **** (bog, dying, idle inconsistency) after running cheap AMPM gas for a few weeks. Bought my gas from anywhere else and it was fine.
Aside from the Main Relay and distributor as mentioned above, I can't really think of anything. Here's a different link for a little more information on the relay, if you're feeling curious:

Good luck to ya, in any case.
