So I wanna shave my emblems on my hatch on my teg and looking for a way to do it without welding. I know it would only be a simple tack weld but I have no access to a welder. So my question is can I use panel adhesive or por15 two part epoxy. I have both these products already laying around. The holes are small enough to where I would think it will work but looking to see if anyone has done this

 

im not too familiar with por15 being a hole filler. ive only used it to cover rust. but if seriously do not have access to a welder. i guess u can glue in some type of piece that will occupy the hole. you'll still have to cover it with a little bit of filler, and primer and block it and repaint it.

 

use a grinder to rough up the backside of the holes and do the same to the front. Grind a bit of a divot on the front if you want, it doesn't matter.. just don't remove a lot of metal. Cut a patch panel that covers the holes and grind one side of it. First make sure the surfaces are both clean and dry as well as properly shaped to each other. Then, use the panel bonding adhesive and glue in the patch panel from behind. Clamp it in place or at least use something solid to press on it and keep weight on it while it dries. and then wipe off the excess that squirts out on the back side as well as through the holes. Let it dry, then re-grind the surface a bit, clean it, then apply your filler. Duraglas to fill deep holes or do any 'building' and then a light poly filler like Rage to do the surfacing. Skimcoat it if necessary and prime it and you're done.

 

Its on the hatch of my integra so I don't have access to the back side of the hole. I was thinking if it would work I would v the holes and apply the glue or por15 epoxy. Let dry and sand smooth and go over with polyflex from overcoat. Maybe even overcoat fibertech may work to fill in the hole?

 

Can you nor take the interior panel off of the inside of the hatch to gain access? It is really going to help a lot if you can get to the backside of those holes.

Personally, I have filled many emblem holes (properly) with good quality body filler and never had an issue....but you do need to access the backside for prep. Really anything that doesn't shrink much over time and has some flex to it will work, but of course won't be as good as welding.
