I live in Arizona now and I came home to Washington for the holidays. I left my Type R here to finish it once I finish school. I've been away for 5 months now. Had a great Christmas with my family. so anyways, Christmas night I was going to hang out with my old friends who I haven't seen in a long time. we met at a local Fred Meyers, where I have left my car numerous times. I have always felt safe leaving my car in certain spots in my hometown, this being one of them. I met my friends and my friends left there lexus and mercedes there with my car and we took my other friends vehicle to grab food. we were gone for about 5 minutes. when we got back, my passanger sideskirt was gone. its depressing that the first time i have drove my car in 5 months, that had to happen. I guess a lot has changed in my town since i was last here.

Idiots couldnt even figure out how to remove the steering wheel,... and it was on a quick release lol.

Sad christmas. Haven't seen mine for over 2 weeks. Its 20 hours away at an empty house for the xmas. So no idea if its even still there for another 2 weeks blah.

do you guys know if i want to get the optional skirts if i need the factory ones in place and they go over them....or do they completely replace them? cause now i have an excuse to buy them. lol.

IIRC they replace the factory ones.

 

if you get oem optional sides skirts then ya it will replace the whole sideskirt.

Sorry to hear about the sideskirt theft. Try to put a positive spin on it and use it as a learning experience perhaps.

A friend in Olympia had his entire stock ITR stolen a few years ago (he posted pics on here). Later the car was recovered stripped, cut into pieces and left down I-5.

I don't EVER let my Civic out of my sight in this area even. I'd do the same if I had an ITR. They're fun cars, but you need to have a daily driver so you can even go grocery shopping.

Stupid thieves...makes me wanna go James bond style and booby trap my car to assplode in their face if they touch it. I get a *free* $15k from insurance for a new R plus one or more thieves will be rotting in hell. Even better if it doesn't kill them and instead maims them in the most inhumane way possible.
