Hello guys, i hit a deer on my way home early this morning,i tried to open my hood and it stuck. I had my dad pull the latch while i tried opening the hood, no luck. any suggestions? its a 89 hatch..

 

ahh no way man sorry to hear that i hit a deer also i sold my whole car after that for 1000 anyways is the mechanism all bent up or what the cable to the latch isn't snapped is it? if it is you could reach through the bumper and move the latch with your hand iv had to do that a few times

 

hey thanks for the responce. my car is not that bad..just a little dent on the hood, i have the car on ramps,and the cable seems to be in place,i think it might have snapped out of the latch somehow, i tried reaching up in there but cant seem to un lock it

 

have someone push down on the hood while to try to move the latch, theres probably alot of tension on it if the hoods bent...or get up there with a ratchet and try to unbolt the hook off the hood..

 

i got it! i think i might need to replace the cable......i took the cable off from inside the handle and pulled on it with some vice grips,that did it....now the other problem is when i put it back together the cable slides so i have to take it off the handle and pull on it with vice grips again....im just gonna replace everything..
