Correct me if i am wrong but centerline=peak lift
So peak lift should occur at 110 degrees crank right?

finally recieved the reply from Jun. This is what i got.

JUN Auto Mechanic3-1-7 Sekimachikita Nerimaku TokyoTel 81-3-3920-4165 Fax 81-3-3594-2689Sep 24
Dear Mr. *censored*
Thank you for your mail.
B-series type 3
1. Tappet clearance IN 0.17mm / EX 0.19mm
2. Take the center angle 110 degree from TDC at the primary lobe in eachintake exhaust cam.
Thank you,

So my question now is Center angle is peak lift. Which should occur at 110 degree's btdc, or atdc? and for which cam lobe am i degreeing? it says primary cam lobe meaing? Im confused.

Do i need to lock the vtec in place? do i just degree it using the non vtec lobes? how so? and which lobe is the primary i should be using> it seems they are off set a little. Idk

ALL motor: did you degree them in using the vtec lobe?

I would use vtec lobe to degree in, if the primary does share the same centerlines then yea, you could use the primary lobes without locking vtec, but i'd just do it the normal way. That away you can also check your P2V and what not while vtec is locked. Better then guessing.

So if the degree settings you gave me are for the primary or the vtec lobes? if those are juns recommendations wouldnt that be the settings for the primary lobes? Just kinda sketchy on how this works. You've personally degree'd the jun 3's using those settings on the vtec lobe?

Yes, Use the center lines i gave you...I would follow the info i gave you, as its actual measurements.
Contact JUN, ask them if their primaries follow the same center lines as their vtec lobes, if so you will not have to lock vtec, however thats a shadtree way out.

help me out. im hella confused.

Your measurements are taken after 1mm of lift is achieved correct?

Part# 1004M-H003 (INT)
- 1mm lift at 32° ABDC (closing)
- 110° lobe centre
- 1mm lift at 8° ATDC(opening)

Part# 1004M-H103 (EXH)
- 1mm lift at 8° BTDC(opening)
- 110° lobe centre
- 1mm lift at 32° BBDC(closing)

Lobe center is 110° on the degree wheel correct. peak lift occurs at 110° right?

So confused

Intake cam gear was advanced 1/2 tooth So TDC marks on the gears where off when i started.

1/2 a tooth or half a degree advanced? Your measurements add up to about .020" height reduction which translates to 1/2 a degree correction required. Your cam gear final numbers sound about right and not out of whack.

well it seemed like the exhaust gear was perfectly level with the head and the exhaust line matched up to 1/2-1/8 of a tooth under the line on the intake gear(both cams at 0) thats the only way i could eliminate all the belt slack and get the gears to somewhat line up.
