well the two are not interchangable. they have different bolt patterns. for some reason the B18c1 head has a different bolt pattern than they B18c5 and i think the B18b. What motor are you gonna put the manifold on?

If you have a GS-R motor and would like a more free-flowin Intake Manifold, go with the Skunk2 Intake Manifold. It's similar to the Type-R IM, but better.

The GSR manifold has the dual intake runners which help below 5800 RPMs, but the ITR manifold is less restrictive and only gives up a few ponies to the GSR at lower RPMs. Overall the ITR is better. You didn't mention what it was going onto, but if it's on a B18C1 then go with the skunk2 as was suggested. It's been modified to properly fit on the GSR and improved over the ITR if only slightly. I doubt you'll get enough out of boring this to make it worthwhile.

Does teh skunk2 intake manifold require tuning with a vafc or other electronic device? I doubt it would just bolt right up and go perfect.

my friend put a skunk2 on his GSR motor and it just bolted up. You do however have to take off the original sensor and remount it as well as fool with some of the coolent lines. other than that its not difficult at all.

I saw a dyno for a gsr to type r im swap, it made about 5.5 hp and a similar torque number, they even said it wasn't worth it for the work involved..

I dunno, if you're NA then you need every HP you can get. Some claim that the manifold pays off more as you build your setup more. I could see some validity to that. There's also weight savings here, the GSR manifold is reasonably cumbersome. It's no worse then $500+ for an exhaust IMO and nearly everybody does that.

I am using the JG Edelbrock Manifold and I am very pleased with it. I am pretty sure they make it for the B18B engine as well. And I am not sure so don't hold me to it but i think it made a few more HP than the TYPE R on an all motor car and well as a boosted car.

Doesn't it have really short fat runners. That would imply further losses down low. I haven't seen one dyno'd yet though. I think they're a bit more than the Skunk2 on the street as well. I'd go for the Skunk2 unit. In fact I AM going for the Skunk2 unit, paid for it yesterday.
