Default B20-VTEC build question

Ok guys, first things first.

I have a 00 GSR ek, i am going to do w a B20 vtec in it, using my gsr head and etc. i will be keeping engine stock bore, because i do not have the money to resleeve it, but i do want high rpm power so ill be doing pistons, rods and etc.

my mods will be

-RS machines domed pistons 84mm (stock bore) 11.5 compression
-ARP head studs
-ARP rod bolts

my question is, im looking to get eagle rods and ACL main and rod bearings, for what application do i get the eagle rods? gsr? b16 or b20?

and im guessing whatever choice i get, for example gsr eagle rods, id have to get ACL bearins for a gsr?

im stuck in the rod and ACL bearing part, as i want everythng done right the first time and everything to fit. thx alot.

You would get rods according to which crank you are using.

I wouldnt worry about buying rods at all. Stock LS rods will handle alot of power. Just get then fitted with the arp rod bolts and then cheked line hone the big ends to make shure its nice and round. Guys on here making 260whp allmotor on stock ls rods with arp rod bolts spinning to way past 9k rpm. butt its totaly up to you about the rods.

so what u guys are saying is, the aftemarket pistons (rs machines 84mm 11.8 comp) will fit with the stock rods that my b20b will have?

so basically all i need is

RS Machines pistons 11.8 comp 84mm bore
acl main and rod bearings
arp head and rod studs

and im cool to go? it be nice to rev up the b20 up to 8,500-9k ish.

What you said above is correct. But rod bolts not studs Should be a fun build.

I have head of people running b16 bearings, they have better clearances apparently. PM b20vtech on here, he had info on it i believe.

Yeah with out a problem. Just gap the rings to oem specs and make shure bearings have the correct clearances. Yes ure coll to go. Butt make shure you TUNE it before you rev it to 9k rpm or ull have a nice paperweight engine. Also what cams are you going to run.

i was thinking of skunk 2 stage2 cams, but the staged cams only produce massive power after vtec, id like power all thru the powerband, so im think of pro 1s aswell. thx for all the info guys, hard to see mature people in this forum.

Good choice on the Pro 1's Probably the widest used and most popular cam in the market, not to mention how well they perform.

All the youngins (I'm only 22 lol) are being swept in off the forums by mom and dad for the holidays so the BS comments and terrible info is limited. haha.
