Default Running from the po-leese (almost).

Yesterday my brothers, a guy named Jason and I went riding on the bikes. Here's the lineup (bike and the order we rode in usually):

Terrence: '97 CBR 900 RR, Erion Racing fairing, V&H pipe
Sterling: '99 ZX-9R, polished frame, full Yosh system, jetted
Jason: '98 GSXR 750, fancy paint scheme, Yosh slipon
Voto: '97 CBR 600, D & D slipon, stage one jet, K & N (SLOW)

We're running down Route 5 (long, well maintained road, some twisties and nice straight) when we come up on a F-150 following a Miata, doing maybe 40 mph in a 45 zone.

Terrence comes up on a small passing zone, so he downshifts and takes it. Slow ol' Voto on the 600 sees this and plants the bike in third, ready to launch when Sterling & Jason go. Well, the passing zone ended in a blind curve that slopes uphill slightly and they didn't take it; I'm still in third. I pause, verbalize the words "**** it" to myself and WOT around Jason, Sterling, the F-150 and the Miata. Dude in the Miata is laughing a waving me on.

OK... no criticizing here... I know that was stupid.

I come up the small rise through the turn (I almost grazed the trucks' mirror; I was nearly riding on the double yellow line around these guys... thank God no one was coming) and Terrence had opened 'er up on a glorious straight; no potholes, flat and wide with plenty of light. Terrence is probably 3/4 of a mile down the road, probably slowing down after his 140 mph blast. I hold on to the throttle and shift at towards the right hand side of the tach (wasn't looking; watching road) into fourth and start closing the gap. I look down at the speedo when I begin to shut it down and I was right at the 130 mph mark on the road.

What a rush.

Long story a l'il less long, Sterling and Jason catch up and we keep scooting along at 75 or so, and end up passing some more cars. Well, someone didn't care too much for punk *** sport bike riders zipping along so they called the po-leese.

We come up on a county deputy who looked like he was setting up a roadblock; turns out he was just turning around to catch us. We're in the usual formation again by this point so I'm in the rear with blue lights in my mirrors. I can't afford to get pulled, for varied reasons. I was torn; Jason's bike isn't quite legal and I could see he was thinking about running (grabbing the clutch and what not). I'm nervous as hell; I finally say **** it and grab, throw down two gears and get ready to throttle her *** out.

Right then, Terrence pulls over, and I change my mind.

We all pull over, and the cop is really cool. He tells us that we should slow down, and after that he just compliments us on our bikes (he liked the flat black on the Franken600).

Looking back, I realize that he couldn't have gotten us for anything because he A.) didn't have a witness available, and B.) didn't see it himself.

I had a Gaurdian Angel on my side that day... I was so ******* close to taking off.

'Twas fun.

Nice kill, kinda.....

Glad the cop was cool with ya....

Had the same deals this weekend, ended up running twice, well kinda running, we were at a local spot a cop pulled over a local car, so as me and my buddy jimmy are leaving, i pull a nice 9 o'clocker out right by the cops car door, as I look in my mirrors, I see him running out to the car he pulled over, so I signal jimmy, and we haul ***......

Second one was kinda funny, me and jimmy are on our way home, were about to split our ways, were just chilling out sitting on our tanks, and all the sudden bam, blue lights, were both like, ****, we hit the seats, drop the grears and twist the **** out the throttle, well jimmys just sits and goes, i get a nice long wheel, well while im in the air, I see the damn trooper riding beside me, laughing, turns out he was headed else where, kinda cool in my opinion.....

niice, good thing that the cops were nice.

the only time i ran away from a cop was when i was heading for the track.
I had no speedo, no signals, no mirrors at 4am heading for my friends place to get my motorcycle into a truck (about 15km from my place to my friends place). was going around 60~70km/h ish in a 50km/h big road and i see a white big vfr750 (thats what cops ride in japan) slooowly comming towards me. He probably didnt notice/care about me, but if he lined up wiht me im sure he'd notice the problem with my motorcycle, so i speed up alittle and go into some small roads. thats when i noticed that the cop is actually following me (but for some reason no flashing)....... and i run away.

other than that, i usually stop for the cops to ticket me (other than the times that i really dont notice)

Yea man, just pull over, I don't think its worth the possible outcomes, and as for lifting the front wheel to provoke a cop, that is just stupid squid stuff.

Yeah, I know it's stupid.....

I am shameful to say I did it once. Just watch out for a certain lowly red Crown Vic....cuz the CAN go 150mph.

Run,Run,Run,Run !!!!!!!!! Do not stop for the Cops. The only way you will get a ticket is if you pull over so don't pull over. Everyone I ride with gets tickets. Not me I always run. Don't give me flak for doing this on city streets b/c you know you do it too. When a cop gets behind me I flick them the bird and PoooooooF I'm gone. I never ride with a plate. he he he he

Well actually I'm plateless for a couple weeks. Damn the dmv is slow. Think a 500cc twin can take a crown vic pursuit? I guess I'll just swap plates for awhile
