Ordering a liberty and we were just wondering what final drive you guys were going with. We were thinking of the 4.0 but now were thinking that might be too long since we were only revving to 9500.

Thanks guys

Save yourself the headaches and order an Albins box with the 4.1 final drive.

We just don't have that in the budget for this winter unfortunately.

Yes lol the only reason why we were revving to 9500 only is because we had a stock head, throttle body and an ebay skunk2 manifold and power was dropping off after like 8800. We are re-doing everything this year and will most likely be revving to 10-10,500.

So the next question is...

What oil pump is everyone running to rev past 10k? Or will an oem Honda oil pump be fine for that rpm?

Well we are not 67mm but we are 24.5 we use the 4.42 and trap 171.5 @ arround 10.400rpm the car revs 10,800 so 4.0 its out of a question for you guys unless yall making like 1400 to the wheels and going 185+ on the small tires....

don't be afraid to buy liberty....I've have had a pretty good experience with them the last 2 years....only 1 flub up but the blame was on both of us really. don't go lower than a 4.4 IMO.

I can't say nothing good or bad about other gear set bc this liberty its our frist dog box but in liberty's favor we got that gear set used and put arround 25 dyno pulls and 45 full passes at the track and just broke one tooth in 4th gear on one dyno session and that was after all the track hits... IMO its worth the money specially if you don't got albins gear set budget...

I was thinking of running a Gforce box but I had just ordered the Liberty Billet Housing and thought maybe I would get a discount if I didn't need their modified housing, but you don't.

So I just spent a little more and bought a PPG gear set and called it a day.

Everything wears dog or stock. It is what it is

We saw 35-40 passes out of bone stock GSR trans with cuff and LSD. We're going back with Gforce dog box this time. Tired of losing 4th gears and I know stock trans won't hang with a 72 now anyway
