2001 Accord LX 90k miles Service
Buddy of my, ask If I could work on his 2001 Accord 90k service. Anyoneh ave a good write up for this car, so I can do as much research as possible?
Thank you,
Thank you,
I don't know what you're supposed to do at 90k. My car came with a book that has a chart showing the appropriate work and at what mileage/age to perform each job. The book for my 01 Accord has most of the major work done at 105k, or by age.
Off the top of my head the 105k service includes:
Timing belts (2)
Flush/Change engine coolant
Change transmission fluid
Check brakes and suspension.
There is probably other stuff too. Instructions for doing most of the work can be found in the FAQ sticky for this forum.

Yeah I heard about that maintenance schedule. My boy is at 95,000, he drives a lot because his work requires it. He just doesn’t want wait for anything to snap on it, he needs his accord to run good. He is projecting alot miles to put on this year, he going to drive the crap out of his car.
Here is a quick list as what needs to be done:
Haynes Repair Manuel for 2001 accord, certain specs I need to look up.
Lube, lots of it!
Spark plugs, (Denso or NGK Iridium's) Top of the line and very much worth it, each one is like $8.00.
Rotor, cap & dizzy.
Spark plugs wire set.
Timing belt.
Water pump.
Replace cooling system, replacing the anti freeze.
Drive belts, its got two ( alternator and the other runs both power steering pump and air conditioning.)
Valve clearance, I have the special tools for this.
Air Filter, cold air intake for the engine.
Cabin air filter, anti ***.
Fuel filter.
Check and Adjust base idle speed. (air/gas mixture)
Check and adjust ignition timing. (timing gun)
Clean out, fast idle valve. (cold starts, temperature sensor )
Clean out, idle air control valve.
Clean out cold air intake pendulum
Clean out EGR Valve and EGR Ports.
I don’t think I’m going above & beyond. I am the original owner of 92 cb7 coupe, and it runs like no ones business. No one & I mean no one has touch my car, I have been the only person who has wrench on her since I purchase her. Never took in to the dealer either.
I’m still looking for that online manual service in PDF format, if anyone knows about one, hook me up please.

Really? Makes me wonder if pdf 4 2001 is out there. I may have just go off the Haynes. U got a 2001? This my first job ever on 2001 and I doing reseach as much as possible. I dont want to hidden surprizes.
I have a 5th gen, 96. However, I have done some work on the 6th gen Accord. There are a lot of similarities. A Haynes manual will probably due for the things you have listed.
Haven't been on in a few days. The only manual I've found for that gen is an "ISO" file. It can be downloaded from spoonertuner. From there you have to burn it to disk...works great, and I don't even own a 6th gen???
Anyway, sounds like you are well on your way.

Try Ebay, I found manuals on Cd-rom for minimum of 5.99 IIRC, I bought one for a corolla and a jeep liberty. Have your friend pay for it, matter of fact let me look and I'll post a link.
