Golden Eagle Headstuds discontinued..WTF.
GE's feel a lot more solid when torquing them, ive used multiples of several brands of heads studs, nothing comes close, im getting mixed input from GE and a distributor that they were discontinued...and then oh wait no we have them.
LOL...
I know they stopped making B16 studs a while back...but the GSR/LSVTEC are still available. unfortunately with a recently huge price increase but oh well

I like the ge headstuds better, seem to have a better finish and tensil is slightly higher than the non L19 arps.
I hope they continue making them and that the price doesn't go threw the roof like everything else seems to be.
That's the problem with the gov just printing more money, lowers the value of a dollar, prices go up, esp in overseas items were their economy may be doing better than ours.

lol....they still make the b18c1 head studs because of their lsvtec kits, etc. they have sky rocketed in price. No bueno. Discuss.
I believe: http://www.a1technologies.com/index_flash.php mfg's GE's studs. Maybe go directly to them?

From the many threads I have seen... most 600+hp B builds use Golden Eagle...
I too wonder why... stretch with ARPs and headgasket goes on high hp? Golden Eagle different design then ARP never held a GE in my hand...?
A lot of us H guys use ARP's with no issues... my buddies 600hp and 750hp builds...

Yeah, the GE studs bottom out in the block whereas the ARP's do not. A proper stud should bottom out in the block.
On our SR20 blocks they are the same way. The ARP's only end up using about 1/2 of the available head bolt threads when tightened down whereas a proper bottoming out stud uses all of them.
I use the B16a GE headstuds on my SR20 and its seen 550+ for over a year without issues and will now be seeing 700+ and with the Cosworth gasket i doubt i will see any problems with stretching studs or blowing the gasket. The studs were still tight as hell when I removed the head for some refreshing after a year of torture. The b16a studs are almost identical to the SR20 studs only difference is the top of the stud is about 1/4" taller which is no big deal at all. The bottoms are identical. Mazworx now makes a really good proper bottoming out stud for us using the ARP 2000 material so the tensile strength is a bit stronger than the GE's but the thing is the price.
The GE's i got to my door off ebay for $110 shipped, the new Mazworx ones are $225. I will continue to use my GE's, I love them and they are proven on honda motors in some cases to well over 1000whp so yeah i think they can hold just fine.
