Default M&W Pro10 Tach Question

Got the M&W Pro10 installed in the car. Just had a question about the tach output wire on the M&W Pro10. Do I need to hook that wire up? I've removed the coil and ignitor from the stock distributor. If I need to, what wire am I tapping at the stock distributor plug (OBD2). I am running Neptune RTP.

That tach output wire is for a aftermarket tach,or shift light to get RPM signal. Your OEM cluster tach will not work.

Is there any way to make the stock tach still function? Do I have to keep the stock ignitor hooked up? Is it just the stock tach that won't work, but the ECU will still read correctly? I am using the new Tunerview RD1 as my cluster.

I have the same similar set up. M&w pro 10 just hook up the blue wire coming out of the m&w to your factory tach wire and it worked fine as long as you have the t1 harness if not you're going to have to add it. Good luck

You can get to work no problem. On obd2 cars you need either cut the wire coming from the ecu to the tach and connect the tach output directly to the cluster OR you can hook the tach output to the tester located on the driver side behind the strut tower and then cut the tach output from the ecu. If you hook it up the second way I said and do not cut the wire from the ecu the car will not run. Believe me i went through the same thing you are on my 99si and after finding no Info i just figured it out myself

the ecu will still see RPM with the T1 ICM delete harness for the pro10....so your RD1 should still be able to display RPM when plugged up. Who cares about how the stock cluster gets its signal. The ECU has to see rpm to move through the table.

The ECU knows when to fire based off the 3 sensors in the dizzy, not the ICM.
