Default 06 Odessy valve adjustments

Hello everyone, new to the site and in need of help with adjusting the valves on the heads of this V tech engine. My wife's odessy van has a ticking noise under the valve cover and i'm sure the valves will be in need of adjusting. Though i heard that shims may have a play in adjusting the valves but not knowing how to come across this since im having problems getting proper help. Need to know intake / exhaust specs for proper adjusting and if so an easier way to adjust the valves. Had trouble looking for info from tech books and word of mouth but have no success. Some manuals publicly will not explain how to perform adjustments of the vehicle because of its type of engine design. Though i have found steps to identify cylinder position, not all info to complete the task is known. In need of knowledge here and hope you guys can assist on this.

forever grateful, Ben

let vehicle cool to the touch about 100 degrees or less

remove plenum cover

remove air intake tube

remove throttle chamber with coolant lines still attached

remove upper plenum disconnect vacuum lines

remove coils and plugs (for ease of turning the motor over)

rotate the motor to TDC via the 19mm on the p/s pump (look through the cover ont he b2 head to see what cylinder your on)

adjust valves accordingly to where your at on the cam gear

valve arangment is such:

1 2 3
4 5 6

the feeler gauges needed are a 22in and 30ex if memory serves me correctly

cylinders 1 2 3 can be a little bit tricky to adjust the exhaust valves from the lack of room and fact you can't see

other than that fairly straight forward job shouldn't take you too long

22 and 30, I hope those are in mm? 0.022mm and 0.030mm? haha

When you do adjust them, just make sure the cylinder is at TDC just after the intake stroke (the intake cam lobe just pushed down, then past, and the cylinder came back up to tdc.)

i already touched on that if you read my post you will see that if you look at the b2 cam gear there are numbers on there when the number and the line hit the line on the timing cover dead on thats the cylinder you adjust. you either didn't read or you have never done a valve adjustment on a v6 honda...

your assumption is correct, i have never done a valve adjustment on a v6 honda. That is very interesting, i will check for that when i do mine... i have 27,000 miles on my ody so probably wont be doing this for a while haha.

Thanks for the info

Where can I purchase the feeler gauges for this job, 22mm and 30mm or .0085" and
.012". The .012" is a common size, no problem but I can't find the .0085" anywhere.
thanks
Tim
