Default 2000 si running rich and stalling

Hey guys it has been some time since i have been in the Honda game. Bought me another 2000 si stock with 128000 miles. Good to be back.

Car is running rich at WOT and idle as i can smell it at times, it also seems to take a while to warm-up. Going around corners with less than a quarter tank leads to stalling. Also driving down the highway at a constant throttle for a period of time leads to lugging and jerking until throttle is applied. So im leaning toward fuel pump or map sensor? Anyhelp would be appreciated as im trying to get ready for boost. Thought it may be low compression as it is hard to start when cold.

thanks for any input. Been in the 2Jz game for almost 5yrs time to get back in the groove

check your ect sensor, its probably making the ecu think that the car is still cold so causing it to run rich and smell it also taking a while to warm up

Post the CEL codes. See FAQ sticky at the top.

Inspect the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.

Replace the fuel filter.

We can't help you without you helping yourself and pulling the code(s). Stop at a local parts store like Auto Zone or Advanced and they will scan it for free. You must have 5 minutes to spare...
