Tonight i went to warm my car up, turned it on left it running for about 15 seconds to go grab my tool box and put into my car, started to hear a hissing sound and seen smoke comming from under the hood, lifted the hood and saw a bunch of steam

The steam was comming out of some valve on the air conditioning compressor, and there came this green slimy liquid

So being the guy i am, i went ahead and took my finger and scrapped some off the ground and smelled it, it smelled kinda like nail polish remover and the polish combined together.

also one other thing that started to go on after this, is behind the glove box there is now a strange sound that kinda sounds like a river flowing at times but also sounds like a humming sound at other times.

sounds like the pressure relief valve opened on the ac compressor. the green slime is refrigerant oil mixed with UV dye. Have your ac system diagnosed. you may have a blockage that caused the pressure to build too high.

 

If the valve is pointed downwards on the AC Compressor, sgraham is correct, it is a pressure relief valve to prevent the system from being damaged. Rather cheap part to fix. Just need a ratchet.

It's no longer releasing any fluids, however i still have the sound coming from the heater core area.

 

Disable your compressor, unplug the single wire brown plug next to it. You are running it without any fluid.

 

And will that disable my heater at all?

 

No. Your heater uses waste heat from the engine coolant.

If the sound is coming from under your dash it is very possible your evaporator is toasted. Mine blew, it's fairly common on 5th gens. There is no filter on the outside air intake, so leave and junk get sucked into the evaporator. Some leaves are acidic, and when water condenses on the coils, it extracts the acid from the leaves slowly eating the metal away over time.

Don't stress, though, the evaporator is super easy to do.
